Welcome Back!
We started this term with a BANG! We threw a 'Welcome Back' Party. We ate food and played lots of fun games! Some people were super competitive but we all had fun and enjoyed the party!
Here are a few photos from the 'weetbix challenge'. We had to each take turns at eating a bar of weetbix. It was dry and very hard to swallow. There were different techniques. Some people ate the bar - whole. Others bit into it while others decided to crush the bar completely and eat the crumbs. None-the-less, it was fun and hilarious to see everyones faces struggle eating it.

Maritime Museum
Today we went to the Maritime Museum in the city.
When the bell went Mrs Faalili took the roll and sent the last bits of money up to the office. When we were ready we all assembled on the netball courts to go through a few things. By 9am we were up and on our feet, marching towards the bus. We took the long way to walk to the bus because Moni said it was at the back entrance. It wasn't. It was at the front. Hah. It was a good warm up walk though, thanks Moni!
When we reached our destination, we had to wait a little bit because we were early. Mrs Faalili met some tourists from Germany. They were in NZ for 2 weeks and already had done some exciting things like BUNGEE JUMPING!
When it was time to go inside, we met our educator and his name was Ryan. He was funny! We sat and waited for his instructions and then had morning tea. By then, our tummies were rumbling. After morning tea we were out, exploring the museum. It was so much fun. We saw lots of old things. Ships, boats, waka from the Pacific, an old post office and even an old ice cream shop. Even Mrs Faalili had lots of fun - she managed to scare Miss Tupou while hiding behind a door.
After our exploration we had lunch. At midday a cannon went BOOM! It was super loud! Once lunch time was over we made our way over to the boat and went on a boat ride around the harbour. It was great to be out on the water.
When that was all over it was time to head back to collect our bags. Our trip had come to an end.
A huge thank you to all of our parent helpers who came on our trip. Stay tuned because there will be more pictures coming!

We met HAROLD today!
Life Education!
Today we met Harold! With Harold, we have been learning about how the different systems in our bodies work, the roles of the different organs and why keeping healthy is important.
Did you know, that the small intestines, when unravelled are about 4-7 meters long? That would reach almost from the front of our class where the whiteboard is to the back of the classroom. That is SUPER LONG!

Marshmellow Towers
Since we're all new to this class, Mrs Faalili and Whaea Pene had planned a team building activity for us as a way to get to know each other and to work with people we normally wouldn't work with.
We were given half a bag of spaghetti and half a bag of marshmellows. The instructions were to build the tallest and strongest tower using only the materials given. Fair to say that some people ran out of marshmellows because they got hungry...aye Byron.
There were some very creative towers, including a windmill, a beach and some stars. Take a look at the creativeness in Room 13.
