This week in buddy class, we started planning and crafting our own ISLANDS. On our islands, we had to make sure that we had the four different landforms that we have been learning about...
1. Mountains
2. Hills
3. Valleys
4. Plains
We used paper and pencils to 'plan' our island. When that was done, we used paper, card and corrugated cardboard to create our landforms on our island. Check them out.

Printing with our buddy class
The third stage in our work with our buddy class.
Today, we got to PRINT! We used a special type of ink/paint, rollers and paper to create our prints. It was really cool to see the different textures the card gave as well as the different levels in our work. Everyone had a part to play - a roller (with paint), a presser and a roller (without paint).
Next week we will be adding to our current prints.

Maritime Museum
Today, we went on our trip to the Maritime Museum. We caught a bus to the city and had a fun activity to do in the Museum. We saw lots of amazing things! Lots of things about the water, sailing, coastline, Sir Blake and things from the past. Check out some of our photos from the trip. Be sure to look on the individual blogs for their own recounts on the trip.

Check out our WATER RUBBISH CLEANERS
We've buddied up with our friends in Room 3. We've been learning about rodents and streams. We made a visit to the stream in Glen Innes and was a part of THE RIVER TALKS that happened earlier in the month.
When we returned, we remembered the saying they shared with us
'I AM THE RIVER. THE RIVER IS ME!'
'KO AU TE AWA, KO TE AWA AHAU!'
We were disappointed that our river was paru, dirty and yuck. We wanted to do something about that so we designed some cleaners to help us keep our waters clean.
Here are some pictures...but be sure to come back because we've got more to add!
