Looking at other Blogs

Today for cybersmart we looked at other blogs from schools and students. We had to find out what we saw in these blogs, the learning that they did and then add this to a padlet.
Check out what we found...

My Life - By Kahnye

My name is Kahnye. I’m ten years old. I live with my mum and my brother.

I live on a cul-de-sac which is like a dead end street. There is only one way in and one way out. Kids play outside, some say hi and some don’t. Some get angry at us for being loud.

My school friends live on my street. I go to my friend’s place to play tag and with my whip.I have fun too. Sometimes I can hear my neighbours arguing outside. I try to be quiet so I can hear them.

I think my neighbourhood is cool because everyone comes outside. They make me happy but also it makes me feel scared because there are fights and sometimes the police come by.

In our family there’s my mum, and brother Tyrese. We share a room. It’s kind of good sharing a room because when I’m on I get scared.

We wake up very early in the morning - so early it’s still dark time outside.

We play on the Game cod3. WE also play minecraft. Then me and my brother turn off the game and get ready for breakfast. Every morning we have three weetbix and I eat mine fast. I always finish mine before my brother. after breakfast I get ready for school. First I have a shower and put my uniform on. Sometimes my mum makes my lunch. Sometimes I do. I have a muesli bar and a sandwich. I also have a packet of chips. When I am finished all my jobs I go on youtube until eight o’clock and that’s when I go to school. That’s what I do at home.

Me and my brother hop in the car, my mum takes us to school and we play in the car. It’s cool. Some days we go to the shops and get lunch from there if we run out of time to make it at home.

When I get to school I play outside.

My school days start with saying hi to my friends. My school is called GTS which stands for Glen Taylor School. I like coming to school because you can learn. I also like coming to school because i can play rugby with my friends. My schoolwork is sometimes hard for me but I try my hardest. My classmates help me with my work when I’m stuck. My favourite part of school is swimming because I get free time. At free time I do bombing.

Te Taiao o Tamaki

Room 10 performed at Te Taiao o Tamaki yesterday.

We've been learning about Rodents & Streams, so we picked some songs that were about W A T E R and asked DJ Vino to remix it for us.

Check out our performance below and let us know what you think ...

Treats & Farewells

This week has been a crazy week! On Monday, the lawyers from Russell McVeagh treated all of us with some easter eggs, we said farewell to our cleaners Evi & Afele who have been at Glen Taylor for 14 years! We're really grateful that people invest their time and effort into our lives and know that without them, our lives at Glen Taylor would be very different.

In Room 10, we want to say a huge thank you to Evi & Afele, our cleaners.
We know that we don't leave our classrooms the neatest at the end of the day, so we are truly grateful for EVERYTHING that you do for us!

We are going to miss seeing you guys around. We wish you a great retirement!

To the team at Russell McVeagh, thank you for all that you do for us. Homework Club is so much fun. The treats, the books and pencils that we use - THANK YOU SO MUCH! The Easter treats were more than we could've asked for. Even our teachers got treats too! You guys are amazing!

Quick Writes

Check out some of our Quick Writes. We use 'once upon a picture' to inspire us and then we write. Some of us like to describe the picture. Others like to make stories up. My favourite ones are when we imagine that we are part of the picture.

Check some of them out
