Wow! Today, after morning tea we went around all the classrooms to have a look at all the awesome science learning everyone has been doing. We were really impressed with all the science boards and the learning that happened. Have a look at some of the pictures below.

4. From Grass to Glass - More maths
Today for Maths, we had to use our knowledge of reading rules and apply this to help solve
1. how much milk is made at each farm
2. the distance it takes from the farm to our tables
It was very tricky at first, but once we figured out that we had to READ and UNDERSTAND ALL the information, then it was more easier. Mrs Faalili encouraged us to keep trying to work it out.
It's a good thing we were allowed to use calculators - because that is A LOT of milk and A LOT of travelling!

3. From Grass To Glass - Maths
Our Maths ...
We looked at bearings and directions today for maths. We used Tina's route to explain what direction she takes using the words like 'NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST and NORTH EAST, SOUTH EAST, NORTH WEST, SOUTH WEST.
We started at Fonterra and had to make our way through to the 4 different farms to pick up the milk from the tankers.
Here are some photos showing what we did

Hi, We are Room 9
We saw on our buddy class' blog that they created a slide deck to introduce themselves. We learnt lots about them and noticed that we even had some things in common. So we thought it would be a great idea if we introduced ourselves to them and create a slide deck so that they can learn a bit more about us.
Hi, we are Room 9.
We'd love to know if we share any similarities with you - let us know by leaving us a comment!

Our Buddy Class - Tuhi mai Tuhi Atu

Throughout the week, we were exploring their class blog as well as some of their personal learning blogs. We noticed that there were only 2 boys...TWO! That shocked some of us and some of the boys don't think they'd be able to handle that. Hah! We had lots of fun exploring their blogs and leaving positive, thoughtful and helpful comments.
We're looking forward to this Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu journey.

NZ VR
We had the lovely ladies from NZ VR come to GTS and talk to us about our NZ waters. Through the VR headsets, we were able to travel through the surrounding waters of the northern island. We looked at fish, stingray, dolphins, whales and kina. We explored what healthy waters and non-healthy waters looked like. We had so much fun!

Kiwican
Today in Kiwican, we were learning about how and why it's important to be reliable. We discussed ways on how to be reliable at school and at home.
We played MINEFIELD. A minefield was created using cones, balls and various items. The aim of the game was to get the team through the minefield while everyone's eyes were closed except the leader. It was really hard but lots of fun.
Our theme at the moment is:
