This week in buddy class, we started planning and crafting our own ISLANDS. On our islands, we had to make sure that we had the four different landforms that we have been learning about...
1. Mountains
2. Hills
3. Valleys
4. Plains
We used paper and pencils to 'plan' our island. When that was done, we used paper, card and corrugated cardboard to create our landforms on our island. Check them out.

Detailed writing
This week, we have been working on adding detail to our writing.
We watched a short video about The Old Lady in the Junkyard and had to describe what she was doing. We had to make sure that each sentence told 3 pieces of information. We then had a sharing circle and had to share ONE of our sentences that has really good description.
Here they are

Term 3 Powhiri
T e r m 3 P o w h i r i
Today, we had a powhiri. This was a very special powhiri because not only did we get to welcome new whanau and students to GT, but we got to say thank you to the very generous people who donated to our school and made the amazing kapa haka uniforms, korowai and poi.
At Glen Taylor, we know that we are very blessed to have such an amazing group of people supporting our vision and the things that we do. We also had a special performance from the Pasifika Pearls.
Here are some photos from the powhiri.

Printing with our buddy class
The third stage in our work with our buddy class.
Today, we got to PRINT! We used a special type of ink/paint, rollers and paper to create our prints. It was really cool to see the different textures the card gave as well as the different levels in our work. Everyone had a part to play - a roller (with paint), a presser and a roller (without paint).
Next week we will be adding to our current prints.

Term 3 Buddy Class - Landforms & Printing
This term with our buddy class we are learning about landforms. We now know that there are 4 different landforms
1. Mountains
2. Hills
3. Valleys
4. Plains
After learning about these 4 landforms we had to draw these four landforms on a massive sheet of paper. This was in our first buddy session.
Our 2nd buddy session (this week) we used our sketches from last week to cut pieces of cardboard to create our cards for printing, ready for next week.
Check out what we're up to...
